We may use your email to generate an anonymized string (or hash) which could be sent to the Gravatar service to see if you’re using it (their privacy policy is available at Once your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes public in relation to your comment.

Uploading images to the website? Please ensure you strip any location data (EXIF GPS) to prevent others from extracting this from images on our site.

3. Contact Forms

By submitting a contact form, your details (including name and email) are emailed to us and may be kept for ongoing correspondence. These details are never used for marketing purposes.

Comment on our site? You can opt to save your details in cookies for convenience, so you don’t have to refill them for future comments—these last a year.

Visiting our login page creates a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts them, which doesn’t include personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.

Logging in sets cookies to remember your info and display choices, which last for two days or a year, depending on your choices. “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Log out, and these cookies are removed.

If you edit or publish content, a cookie storing the post ID is saved. This has no personal data and expires after a day.
